"There has been some discussion (about his role), but it is early," the veteran superstar suggested. "Theres a lot that has to happen. ..."
Smith added that he had no problem coming into practices as a backup for the first time since his rookie season. Smith, who has been a regular at offseason workouts, turns 35 in May. ...
Also in Arizona. ... The Cardinals scored fewer points last season than any other NFL team, but Green told Arizona Republic staffer Kent Somers the teams offensive potential was a major reason he took the job.
"I think the offensive personnel we have is ideally suited," he said.
