The Raiders would like to acquire Dillon for a third-round pick in the April 24-25 NFL Draft and a possible selection in next years draft. The Bengals reportedly want a second-round pick this year.
And that could be a problem.
In fact, as San Jose Mercury News staffer Dennis Georgatos suggested this morning: "Dillon may want to become a Raider, but speculation that a trade could be in the offing has cooled considerably."
A Bengals source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Georgatos neither Dillon, who has two years left on his contract, nor his agent has permission to discuss a trade with another team.
However, the Raiders, who lost free agent Charlie Garner to Tampa Bay, need another running back and might make a run at acquiring Dillon before the draft.
