How much time does all this take?

The answer to this question depends in large part on just how competitive your league is and how much you want to "master" the game. But, generally speaking, you'll at least want to skim the NFL news once or twice per week to see if any of your players are injured, about to lose their job, etc. You will also need to go in and select a starting lineup once each week some time prior to kickoff of the first NFL game.

In the simplest leagues you can spend as little as 5-10 minutes per week on your team, while in highly competitive leagues you can spend hours scanning the services like the FootballDieHards.com, making trade proposals and speculating as to how your players will perform in the coming week.

"But I will say that hes been to other places where their teams have seen fit to make offers after their doctors have seen him."

And as Rasizer suggested: "Hearst fits the profile the Broncos have been targeting frequently this month on the open market -- a player past his 30th birthday with Pro Bowl credentials (Hearst has played in the game twice) and, perhaps, a couple of solid seasons left in the tank."

"Im not a coach, but my sense is he fits what they do," Dye said. "He catches the ball, and hes an every-down back with plenty of versatility. And I dont think what the Broncos are doing is too drastically different from what theyre doing in San Francisco. ..."','3/25/2004 1:58:57 PM','1:58:57 PM','Thursday'3165,2004,1050 6612,7,75,'Roundup: Johnson At It Again; Pittman Pleads Down & More','In an article published early Thursday, Cincinnati Enquirer staffer Mark Curnutte reminded readers that Wednesday was just the third day of the Bengals offseason conditioning program, but Chad Johnson -- or at least his voice -- was already in midseason form.

Johnson, fresh off his first all-star appearance, did add a new twist.
