Also in Tennessee. ... Pro Football Weekly, citing sources close to the Titans, reported Monday theres still a possibility that Eddie George will be cut June 1, although that doesnt necessarily mean that he wont be with the team next season.
The Titans and head coach Jeff Fisher, especially, would like George back if for no other reason than there is no other back -- Chris Brown included -- who can shoulder the full-time load. Brown showed flashes running the ball toward the end of the season, but he also looked shaky in blocking assignments and pass receiving.
George has a $4.25 million base salary for 2004, but he rejected the Titans request in March to cut his number closer to $1.5 million or $2 million.

In St. Louis. ... Four days after being released by the Chicago Bears, Chris Chandler has hooked up with a team that does not appear to have a need for a veteran quarterback.
The St. Louis Rams, who have Marc Bulger and Kurt Warner at the position, signed Chandler on Tuesday to a three-year contract.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The move will cause many to suspect that the Rams may release or trade Warner, but head coach Mike Martz insists that Warner will compete for the starting job in training camp with Bulger, who is a restricted free agent unlikely to leave after having been tendered the highest qualifying offer by the Rams.
"It just strengthens the position," Martz said Monday. "Obviously, were not bringing (former No. 3 QB) Scott Covington back. So Chris is one of our three quarterbacks. Hes not coming in here to compete as a starter. Hes coming in here in a backup capacity. He understands that."
