being traded but would prefer to play with the Jets and quarterback Chad Pennington, a friend and former college teammate at Marshall University.
A Minnesota source told Salguero if the Vikings decide to trade Moss, they could trade him anywhere they want because he has no trade-exclusion clause in his contract.
That said, Miamis need for a star receiver is inarguable. Last week, the team restructured Derrius Thompsons contract, told James McKnight he would be cut and has made no secret that free agent Oronde Gadsden will not be re-signed.
That means the Dolphins enter the start of free agency today with one proven receiver -- Chambers -- on the roster.

Tight end Jim Kleinsasser agreed to a five-year contract Tuesday night with Minnesota, keeping a valued part of the top-ranked offense with the Vikings.
With free agency set to open today, the Vikings were in danger of losing Kleinsasser, 27, who received strong interest on the market.
Kleinsasser, Minnesotas second-round draft pick out of North Dakota in 1999, has become one of the best blocking tight ends in the NFL. The 6-foot-3, 270-pounder set career highs in receptions (46), yards receiving (401) and touchdowns (4) last year. Hes used as fullback and an H-back in certain sets, as well as his primary duties as tight end.
Kleinsasser was paid $3.05 million last season after Minnesota placed the franchise tag on him following failed negotiations on a long-term contract. The franchise designation requires a team to pay a player at least the average of the top five salaries at his position.','3/3/2004 11:37:17 AM','11:37:17 AM','Wednesday'4651,2004,1011
