How much time does all this take?

The answer to this question depends in large part on just how competitive your league is and how much you want to "master" the game. But, generally speaking, you'll at least want to skim the NFL news once or twice per week to see if any of your players are injured, about to lose their job, etc. You will also need to go in and select a starting lineup once each week some time prior to kickoff of the first NFL game.

In the simplest leagues you can spend as little as 5-10 minutes per week on your team, while in highly competitive leagues you can spend hours scanning the services like the FootballDieHards.com, making trade proposals and speculating as to how your players will perform in the coming week.

Undrafted out of Georgia, Wiggins signed with the New York Jets in 1999 and spent the entire season on the practice squad. He played 11 games with the Jets the following year before being claimed off waivers by New England.

"Were pretty excited about it," Vikings head coach Mike Tice said. "Hes a guy whos played in two of the last three Super Bowls. He certainly knows what it takes to be a champion."

Johnson spent his first four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens from 1998-2001 when his new head coach, Lewis, was the Ravens defensive coordinator.

He also has played for Jacksonville. ...

In Chicago. ... The Bears terminated the contract of veteran quarterback Chris Chandler today. Chandler, who was acquired by the Bears as an unrestricted free agent on April 15, 2002, played two seasons in Chicago and started 13 of 17 games played, leading the Bears to five wins as a starter.

He established an NFL record on Oct. 20, 2002, becoming the first player in NFL history to start for seven different teams (Bears, Atlanta Falcons, Houston Oilers, Los Angeles Rams, Phoenix Cardinals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts).

Chandler ranks among the active, career NFL-passing leaders following his 10th consecutive season of throwing for more than 1,000 yards with the Bears in 2003, ranking fifth in career
