According to Houston Chronicle staffer Joseph Duarte, Bruener, who is testing free agency for the first time in his nine-year career, left Houston without a formal offer and said he plans to make a couple more visits before making a decision.
"I would like to end this journey," said Bruener, 31, who spent his entire career with the Pittsburgh Steelers before being released in a salary-cap move this month.
He has made visits to Buffalo, St. Louis, Houston and said Seattle and Kansas City also are possibilities. ...
Also according to Duarte, the Dallas Cowboys and Tom Condon, the agent for quarterback Drew Henson, continued to work out language in the eight-year contract the two sides agreed upon Friday. After the contract is finalized, the Cowboys will send the paperwork to the Texans to write up and for Henson to sign.
The NFLs Management Council must review the contract, which includes a guaranteed $3.5 million but no signing bonus and can be shortened to four years based on playing-time incentives, before the Texans can complete what amounts to a sign-and-trade. ...
