According to Providence Journal beat writer Tom E. Curran, Brady partially separated the acromioclavicular joint when his arm was jammed as he released a pass against the Titans. In the 2002 season finale against Miami, he had the shoulder compressed when he was sacked in the second half.
The pain with this type of injury is over the top and outside of the shoulder and its usually caused by an impact on the point of the shoulder.
