How Do I Score Points

Points are scored in fantasy football in a variety of ways. Scoring categories may vary from league to league but in the majority of leagues players are rewarded for both the points they score on the field as well as the yards they gain for their team during the course of a game.

For example, your league may reward running backs six points for each touchdown they score to mimic the real game of football -- as well as one point for each fifteen rushing yards they produce during a game.

Depending upon how your league is set up, you'll likely be asked to select a group of "starters" each week from your active roster. And just like an NFL team, you'll likely have to select a quarterback, 1-2 running backs, 2-3 receivers, a specialty team, a defense a kicker and other positions

staffer Roy Cummings, the Bucs took their most significant step yet in their attempt to work a trade for Cowboys receiver Joey Galloway on Thursday when they opened contract negotiations with the veteran wideouts agent.

"We had a first discussion and exchanged some ideas," agent Leigh Steinberg told Cummings. "We discussed some initial concepts, and were going to talk again [today] probably."

The Bucs are http://fspnet.com/headlines/news_story.cfm?ID=1001">attempting to complete a deal in which Galloway, the leagues fifth-highest-paid receiver, would come to Tampa in exchange for Keyshawn Johnson, the leagues 10th-highest-paid receiver.

To make the deal work, however, the Bucs and Cowboys must first restructure the contracts of the players they would receive so their salaries will fit under the NFLs 2004 cap figure of $80.6 million.

And they must do so quickly.

Though it has been suggested the two teams could wait until April or even June to make the trade, Steinberg suggested the players respective salaries will force the teams to complete the deal before March 3.

All teams must be in compliance with the leagues salary cap rules by then, and Steinberg suggested that failing to restructure the contracts of either Galloway or Johnson likely would force the teams to cut their respective players.

"We were going to have to redo Joeys contract anyway, so this is not something we didnt think wed have to do," Steinberg said. "Were just doing it with another team. ..."

Sylvester Morris, a one-time first-round draft pick of Kansas City, signed with the Buccaneers on Thursday, three seasons after he caught his last pass.

Taken by the Chiefs in the 2000 NFL Draft, Morris caught 48 passes for 678 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie. However, knee and hip injuries have sidelined the former Jackson State standout over the past three seasons.

Morris is the sixth receiver the Bucs have signed this offseason. ...
