recently reinstated by the NFL after being suspended or violating the leagues substance abuse policy, reported to Westlake City Jail immediately following a court appearance. Green was sentenced to six months in jail after pleading no contest to the DUI charge stemming from his Oct. 27 arrest.
However, a Rocky River Municipal court judge agreed to suspend all but three days of the 180-day sentence if Green complies with terms of his 1-year probation. Greens plea bargain also resulted in the court dropping marijuana possession charges and a charge for improper lane change.
Following his arrest, Green was suspended for four games in November by the league, which extended its penalty for the remainder of the season so the second-year back could get help for drug and alcohol abuse at a facility in Boston.
He missed Clevelands final nine games -- one with a shoulder injury and eight for the suspension. He rushed for 559 yards and one touchdown before his arrest. ...

According to Pasquarelli, the Browns have granted Jamel White and his agents permission to talk to other franchises about a potential trade. One team said to have at least a curious interest in White, whose roll was significantly reduced last season, is Pittsburgh.
The Steelers probably wouldnt want to surrender much for White, who had 232 combined rushes in 2001-2002 but dropped to just 70 carries last year, but do have to make a move at tailback with those who follow the team closely speculating that Amos Zereoue will be released in coming weeks.
Team officials are said to be working with Jerome Bettis on a contract restructuring that would give "The Bus" one more season as a Steeler, but at some point they need a long-term solution at the position.
White is 26 years old, has never been a full-time starter, but does have talent. However, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette beat man Gerry Dulac suggested Monday that the Steelers might also pursue Philadelphia free agent-in-waiting
