How Do I Score Points

Points are scored in fantasy football in a variety of ways. Scoring categories may vary from league to league but in the majority of leagues players are rewarded for both the points they score on the field as well as the yards they gain for their team during the course of a game.

For example, your league may reward running backs six points for each touchdown they score to mimic the real game of football -- as well as one point for each fifteen rushing yards they produce during a game.

Depending upon how your league is set up, you'll likely be asked to select a group of "starters" each week from your active roster. And just like an NFL team, you'll likely have to select a quarterback, 1-2 running backs, 2-3 receivers, a specialty team, a defense a kicker and other positions

McNair was selected to start the Pro Bowl after his best season as a Titan. He completed 250-of-400 passes for 3,215 yards, 24 touchdowns and only seven interceptions, and his passer rating of 100.4 was the best in the league and the best in franchise history.

But the ankle clearly bothered McNair down the stretch, and it showed in his performance in the postseason. He had only two touchdown passes and four interceptions in the playoffs.

McNair threw a 90-yard touchdown pass to Chad Johnson at the Pro Bowl, the second-longest play in the history of the all-star game. ...

According to Associated Press sports writer Tom Withers, Cleveland quarterback Kelly Holcomb had surgery on his right shoulder last week, an unexpected twist in the teams ongoing soap opera at the position.

Holcomb, who split time with Tim Couch as the Browns starter last season, will not be able to throw a football for at least four months, team President Carmen Policy said Tuesday. He faces six months of rehabilitation.

The Browns are hoping he will be ready for training camp in July, but Holcombs uncertain future has complicated the Browns biggest offseason issue: restructuring Couchs contract.

Policy said he met with Couch last weekend in Florida and had "candid but not confrontational" discussions about reworking the former No. 1 draft picks contract.

Couch is scheduled to make $7.6 million this season, and the Browns have said they will only have him back if hes willing to restructure his deal.

Before his meeting with Couch, Policy was optimistic the sides would
