McNabb said winning, and not stats, should be the main criteria for an MVP candidate.
"Its the guy that is most valuable to his team," he said. "Its the guy that when hes out there on the field is making as many plays as possible despite being on his back or (critics) talking bad about him, and being able to overcome that."
As McNabbs sore thumb and his numbers have improved, so, too, has the overall health of Philadelphias offense. The Eagles scored fewer than 15 points in three of their first six games, including one shutout. Since then, they havent scored less than 17 points and have gone over 30 twice.
While the Eagles dont have a running back or a wide receiver ranked in the top 30 in yards rushing or receiving, the running back trio of Duce Staley, Correll Buckhalter and Brian Westbrook have combined for 1,335 yards and 16 touchdown.

Six Eagles receivers have over 20 receptions, led by a team-high 44 from James Thrash.
"Thats one way to tell Donovans playing well is when we have eight, nine, 10 guys catching the ball" tight end Chad Lewis said. "This team is not selfish."
The team also never lost faith in Reid or McNabb, even when there were calls for McNabbs benching because of his poor play. Reid never wavered in his commitment to McNabb and he was rewarded in November, when the three-time Pro Bowler went 5-0.
It was the first time in franchise history the team won five games in one month, as McNabb completed 94 of 145 passes (64.8 percent) for 1,265 yards, six touchdowns and only one interception during that span.
The offense was awful through the first six games before finally hitting rock bottom against the New York Giants on Oct. 19.
"We just had to keep on working harder," receiver Freddie Mitchell said.
The Eagles were outgained 339-134 in total yards and 25-9 in first downs by the Giants, but still won the game when Westbrook returned a punt 84 yards for a touchdown with
