Fassel said Rivers will be fitted for a brace today and might play. Carter likely is through for the season after three possible concussions in four weeks. Collins has improved and might be back next week.
Hilliard still hopes to play despite a left knee that is swelled grotesquely. Fassel said the knee is bruised and that there are cartilage problems in it. "Its something Ive been dealing with for a while," Hilliard said. "Im just trying to treat it and give it rest and well go from there."
Said Fassel: "Ike Hilliard will crawl back out there if he can."

And the veteran receiver did just that, increasing his chances of playing Sunday for the first time in more than a month.
Brown has missed the last four games after the team reported he suffered a leg injury two days prior to the Denver game Nov. 3. The nature of the injury has been a mystery. There were rumors circulating that Brown could be headed to the injured reserve list, but he denied that after last Sundays win over Miami.
"The plan all along has been to come back," Brown said. "Its just a matter of when the time comes."
When asked the nature of his injury, Brown toed the company line. "Its my leg," he said.
Felger went on to note that Tuesdays release of J.J. Stokes might be an indication that Brown is getting closer. Head coach Bill Belichick said yesterday he would consider bringing Stokes back if the Pats "got in a bind."
