Tommy Maddox said he practiced Wednesday without any discomfort from his left knee that was hyperextended near the end of the first half Sunday.
"I did what I would do on any normal Wednesday," he said. "To be honest, I didnt think about it. It wasnt something I had to try to make it through practice with, or anything like that.
"We put a sleeve on it and it felt great. When I came in Monday, I didnt think that I would feel this good today. Its definitely responded well to treatment."
Maddox remains questionable on the Steelers injury list, but he expects to start Sunday against the Oakland Raiders at Heinz Field.
Backup Charlie Batch said he is ready to play, if necessary.
"I go through practice," he said. "I played for four years in this league when I was in Detroit. Its just a matter of the past two years I havent been playing like I normally have. But the speed of the game, I know what to expect."

Dont be surprised if you see more no-huddle plays from the Steelers the rest of the season, especially after they led to Hines Wards touchdown late in the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
"Its an element weve had experience with," head coach Bill Cowher said, "and it was able to come to our advantage, particularly in that last drive. If we ever feel we need a kick-start, we will certainly go to it."
Even without the no-huddle, the Steelers played well on offense against the Bengals. They converted 11 of 15 third downs after failing on the first two. Receiver Plaxico Burress "played his best game in a while," according to Cowher. Burress has 16 receptions for 220 yards in the past three games.
But as Steelers.com staffer Teresa Varley noted, while the no-huddle worked well last Sunday, using it for an entire game is another story.
