How Do I Play Fantasy Football

"Traditional" fantasy football leagues involve a group of players - typically friends, relatives or co-workers - who all know each other and can discuss their successes and failures with each other every week.

But fantasy football is also a game that can easily be played online with a group of fellow football fans that you've never met. Leagues can be as large or small as you'd like. Generally, leagues for beginners have approximately 8-10 teams, but a league can be formed with just a handful of teams all the way up to a large group of 50 or more owners.

Regardless of how a league is formed, player selection is usually the most important part of the season. In draft based games, and in those cases where geography - and busy schedules - will allow, teams can be selected in person via a "draft", typically held at an owner's house, or some public venue capable of hosting a meeting.

Online leagues — or leagues where the owners are simply unable to get together in person - hold their drafts via the Internet. Over the past few years, technology has allowed the interfaces for online drafts to become much more user-friendly, meaning that beginners and experts alike can easily select an entire team in a short period of time.

was associated with returning kicks and serving as a third-down back.

"I really dont pay any attention to that," Capers said. "It doesnt make any difference if a guy is a first-round pick or a free agent. Youre going to play the guys who you think give you the best chance of winning. When Tony and Domanick came out, I looked at them exactly the same. Over a period of time, guys are going to surface, guys who are going to give you the best chance."

So far, that clearly has been Davis. He already is the leading rusher in the Texans 28-game history and is on pace to rush for 1,193 yards and catch 49 passes for another 407 yards. But Davis has taken a pounding on his 225 touches, and now could be a good time for the Texans to take advantage of the fresh legs of Hollings, who has just 18 carries for 74 yards this season.

"With Domanick being the No. 1 guy and me being No. 2 now, I hope that helps my reps," said Hollings, who was leading the nation in rushing with Georgia Tech before his injury. "Ive been talking to him. Hes been a little sore. I cant say how healthy he is. Well see as the week goes along. Either way, I know I have to be ready to play.

"Coming in this year, I was expecting to play, because thats my mindset. But I really didnt expect to come out and start. I just wanted to get as much playing time as I could. As time progressed and the year went along, I think every running back sets a goal of being a starter, but the main thing is to help your team any way you can."

And if that means cheering for and supporting the guy in front of you on the depth chart, Hollings already has proved he can do that.

"I sat on the bench for two years in college, so I learned how to be patient," he said. "Good things come in time, so Im just watching and continuing to learn."

And now, depending on how Davis feels Sunday, Hollings might get a chance to benefit from significant on the job training.','12/6/2003','6:30:00 AM','Saturday',783 6351,9,14,'Casons Season Might Be Over...','Following up on a previous Update. ... According
