While its true that Robinson had not done anything on the field until the past two games, its also true that he had two inexperienced quarterbacks (rookie Kyle Boller and Chris Redman) throwing passes until two games ago, when veteran Anthony Wright was given the job and Robinson suddenly became a touchdown-maker.

Robinson might have clicked sooner with a veteran quarterback like Jeff Blake. Robinson might have been someone for the younger players to go to for advice.

"Thats hindsight," Blake said. "[A veteran] could have made a difference, may have not. Its hard for you to say. You could have had a guy who was an [expletive] and he could have brought them down the opposite way."

Boldins remarkable season reflects harshly on what Johnson hasnt done, but Sullivan is certain Johnson is progressing well. Gilmores inconsistencies -- he drops too many passes -- "is going to get him in trouble," Sullivan added.

"I am realistic enough to know it is a process for some," Sullivan said. Johnson said he thinks the receivers as a group have done well given their situation. Gilmore insisted the players run good routes but dont finish.

"I am disappointed in myself because I havent made the plays they expected me to make," Gilmore said. "Of course I think, If someone else was here, they might be making plays for the team."

That someone else was never signed, though. Its Gilmore, Boldin and Johnson or no one.

"This is the NFL," Gilmore said. "You get paid to do something and you have to do it.

"Youve just got to concentrate and make the play. No My bad or I should have made it. You just have to make it."
