According to the Associated Press, Larry Johnson pleaded innocent Friday to charges of aggravated assault and battery that stemmed from an overnight incident in which he allegedly held a gun to the head of a former girlfriend.
"That didnt happen," said Johnsons attorney, Kevin Reagan, after Johnson entered his plea via closed-circuit television from the Johnson County Jail.
The Johnson County prosecutors office said Johnson, the Chiefs first-round draft pick out of Penn State, was involved in a domestic violence incident Friday morning in the Kansas City suburb of Leawood. Head coach Dick Vermeil declined to offer any extensive comment when asked Friday afternoon about Johnsons arrest.

Johnson, who won the 2002 Doak Walker award as the nations top collegiate running back, has played sparingly this season. He has played in just three games and has only nine carries for 33 yards. He last played in Chiefs 28-24 win last Sunday against San Diego, carrying the ball once for six yards.
"Im always disappointed when a Chiefs player gets into trouble," said Chiefs GM and team president Carl Peterson. "Until I get all the specific facts, I cant really
