Although Pinner didnt practice with the team until mid-November, he began working on the playbook during mini-camps last spring and has been on hand to observe and learn since training camp started in July. His left leg was broken in the Senior Bowl in January.
"He hasnt had a chance to practice all the plays with Joey [Harrington] and the rest of them," Mariucci said.
"Its not about not knowing, its about having done it physically -- run through all those plays, with those guys rather than off a card on the scout team. Hes only had two practices with Joey handing off to him."
Pinner is an interesting long-term prospect worth watching down the stretch.
As I wrote in this years Fantasy Football Pro Forecast magazine: "Despite his diminutive stature, the fourth-round draft pick is durable, a good blocker and a player some suggest will remind Mariucci of a cross between Garrison Hearst and Kevan Barlow."
