Edwards has an escape clause in his contract that allows him to bolt at the end of this season and he could decide to exercise it if the Jets fail to give him a new deal.
"Im the Jets coach and I plan on being the Jets coach," Edwards said Wednesday. "Were trying to win this week against Buffalo. Thats where my focus is."
