How Do I Play Fantasy Football

"Traditional" fantasy football leagues involve a group of players - typically friends, relatives or co-workers - who all know each other and can discuss their successes and failures with each other every week.

But fantasy football is also a game that can easily be played online with a group of fellow football fans that you've never met. Leagues can be as large or small as you'd like. Generally, leagues for beginners have approximately 8-10 teams, but a league can be formed with just a handful of teams all the way up to a large group of 50 or more owners.

Regardless of how a league is formed, player selection is usually the most important part of the season. In draft based games, and in those cases where geography - and busy schedules - will allow, teams can be selected in person via a "draft", typically held at an owner's house, or some public venue capable of hosting a meeting.

Online leagues — or leagues where the owners are simply unable to get together in person - hold their drafts via the Internet. Over the past few years, technology has allowed the interfaces for online drafts to become much more user-friendly, meaning that beginners and experts alike can easily select an entire team in a short period of time.

They also could restructure the deal. One way or another, Bledsoe expects to be back next season.

Bledsoe believes he understands what went wrong this season. In large part, he has been uncomfortable in the pocket because his internal clock hasnt worked. He has been under immense pressure all year, and it has affected his decisions. Sometimes, hes throwing the ball too soon. Other times, as was the case when the Miami Dolphins sacked him six times Sunday, he has held onto the ball too long against defensive fronts that have been coming full force.

"What has happened, especially recently, is that when Im playing and Im getting pressure like I was Sunday, Ill try and speed up my decision-making process," Bledsoe said. "Rather than seeing it, its more anticipating what I think is going to happen. When I do that, sometimes Im going to guess wrong.

"The battle for me in that instance is, "Do I want to wait, risk the sack and possible strip (of the ball)? or, "Do I want to try to get it out quick and see what can happen? Thats the constant battle. I have to make that determination each play. When that happens, Im going to make some bad decisions."

Which brings up another problem.

Bledsoe hasnt had much time this season to consider anything but survival. He was knocked silly by Indianapolis and knocked unconscious against the Giants a week later. His offensive line has struggled, and opposing defenses have been blitzing the daylights out of the Bills all year.

His productivity has been down because deep threat Eric Moulds, whom Bledsoe views as the teams top offensive weapon, has been playing with a partially torn groin muscle since Sept. 21.

Offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride refused to make a commitment to the running game early in the year, which allowed teams to concentrate on stopping Buffalos passing game. Players privately grumbled about Gilbride and his play calling, but not Bledsoe. Bledsoe said Gilbride taught him more about football than any other coach, but he also said his attack was too complex, which led to
