Hes not quite halfway to his receiving goal (246 yards on 39 receptions). So he wont reach that one, unless the Seahawks plan tomorrow at San Francisco calls for Matt Hasselbeck to throw to Alexander on every down.
More likely, Hasselbeck will hand the ball to Alexander, and if the past few weeks are an indication, the goal of 1,500 rushing yards is within reach.
The fourth-year running back already has had his best season, with 1,351 yards. Alexander has run for 261 yards his past two games, including a season high of 135 last Sunday against Arizona. Alexander has three 100-yard games out of the past four, and seven such games this season.
This is the time of the season when, as the Seahawks try to make the playoffs for the first time since 1999, the best players are asked to elevate their games. Head coach Mike Holmgren has repeatedly called for such efforts. Alexander is responding at a point when his team needs him the most.
