has five 100-yard rushing games this season and 16 for his career, moving him past Natrone Means and Lowe, who both had 15 100-yard games during regular season play. With 100 yards on Sunday, Tomlinson could become the first player in team history to have 17 100-yard games (Means and Lowe both had one in the playoffs.) The last time the Chargers played the Raiders was on Sept. 28 of this year, and Tomlinson rushed for 187 yards and one touchdown on 28 carries.
Tomlinson also is close to reaching his personal goal of an average of 5.0 yards per carry this season. He has carried 282 times for 1,402 yards this season, an average of 5.0 yards per carry. Hell need to average that on Sunday to reach the mark he set for himself before the season began.
Regardless of which records Tomlinson does or does not break on Sunday, 2003 will go down as one of the best seasons by any player in Chargers history.
And even though Pro Football Weekly suggests head coach Marty Schottenheimer raised some eyebrows last week when he said Tomlinson was the best running back he has ever seen, its certainly hard not hard to argue hes currently ranks right up there with anybody in the league.

Schottenheimer, who has been involved in pro football for 27 years, said he believes Tomlinson is a combination of Barry Sanders and Walter Payton.
For what its worth. ...
While hes yet to practice this week, the company line emanating from team headquarters maintains Tomlinson, listed as probable with a sore shoulder, will start and play as usual.
But as noted by the Sports XChange, one good shot on that right shoulder could cause problems.
And a few final injury-related notes. ...
Antonio Gates (ankle) returned to practice Thursday, but remains listed as questionable. Justin Peelle and Josh Norman would pick up any slack Gates leaves. ... Reche Caldwell (hamstring) has been unable to practice and isnt expected to play against the Raiders.','12/26/2003','9:50:00 AM','Friday',948
