named the Browns coach in 2001. Already rumors have circulated about his possible replacement -- from San Francisco 49ers quarterbacks coach Ted Tollner (whom Davis first offered the job) to Browns receivers coach Terry Robiskie to Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Norv Turner (if the Dolphins staff is fired).
Arians has been in the eye of fan criticism all season.
Last season, he put together an offense that seemed to be growing into one of the better ones in the league, especially when the Browns scored 33 points in a playoff game in Pittsburgh.
But this season the offense has struggled.
The Browns have had nine games in which they scored 14 or fewer points and six games when they did not score an offensive touchdown.
"Im sure its tough with everybody talking about you," Holcomb said of Arians. "But youve got to block that stuff out and go to work as usual."
If a change is made, it would mark the second year in a row that Davis changed one of his coordinators.
Davis replaced defensive coordinator Foge Fazio with Dave Campo after last season ended.
"The coaches design game plans and we have to take it to the field," Holcomb said. "We have to produce as players. You cant predict whats going to happen.
"We never envisioned where we are right now. Theres things that happened you dont expect, but it does. We just didnt play well.
"You cant point the finger at whos to blame. Thats not what its about. Its about getting the job done and we didnt get the job done."
Said wide receiver Quincy Morgan: "Hes a good coordinator. He calls good plays. He draws up good schemes."
Should Arians be kept?
"I dont know," Morgan said. "Its not up to me. I have no idea."
