Penningtons five-interception game against the Patriots has led to theories defenses are catching up to him after such a fine start to his career.
"I feel like Paul and I have done a really good job staying on the same page and working with each other," Pennington said. "Over the past two years weve been pretty successful. I look for good things to come in the future, because were just getting better and better.

Pennington said he doesnt understand why Hackett is receiving so much heat.
"I feel like our offense was doing really well and it hit kind of a lull in Buffalo (a 17-6 loss), a snowstorm in the Pittsburgh game (a 6-0 win) and Saturday night (a 21-16 loss to the Patriots), when we didnt turn the ball over, we moved the football and we scored.
"It has nothing to do with the play calling or coach Hackett. It has to do with the quarterback executing the play."
But as New York Newsday beat man Ken Berger first reported on Monday, three instances of mangled clock management and poor use of timeouts last Saturday clearly added to a growing body of work that has troubled some players and authority figures in the organization.
Head coach Herman Edwards also defended Hackett, taking the blame himself for the latest clock-management deficiencies and saying Pennington was partially at fault, too.
Edwards did not directly address Hacketts role in the errors, but said bluntly, "Weve got to get the play in and weve got to get the right personnel in. Thats an error. Thats an error on the offense, on the coach." It was not clear whether Edwards was referring to himself or Hackett.
However, at least two people with knowledge of the inner workings of the Jets offense told Berger that incorrect personnel packages have been called enough to raise concern. In addition, there is growing belief on the team that the lengthy verbiage involved in Hacketts calls must be simplified to save time.
