Baggett said "one or two times" this season he, offensive coordinator Scott Linehan or head coach Mike Tice has thought Moss should have tried for more.
Moss gave two reasons for running out of bounds.
"One thing is to not to take a hit unless I have to," he said. "Then another thing is, I know the defense gets [ticked] off at it, because they want to hit me. Theyre trying to tear my [expletive] head off.
Moss said he decides when to run out of bounds based on the game and situation.
"If its third down and 15 or something like that, and Ive got to get it, then Ive got to get it," he said. "I mean, if I see any kind of space, then Ill go through the space. But if I see a bunch of bodies, then why go in there with the bodies?"
"I think now its more important because those two yards that I might not have gotten for the first down is something that could hurt us, so I try to get all I can. At the beginning of the season, whatever is whatever. During the course of a game, I might have my times where I might go out of bounds or something like that. Its all in the game, and Im not the only player that does it. But I think in the long run itll pay off because I wont be waking up so [expletive] sore."
Baggett said Moss has played through injuries this season. But Moss refused to use injuries to his back or his right ankle as excuses. He said hes afraid to have a magnetic resonance imaging exam.
"Im scared what they might tell me," he said.
Hes not planning to have offseason surgery; hes optimistic hell fully recover with time off.
"If its unbearable pain, then I would sit down or something like that," he said. "But I play through injuries."
As for criticism, Moss said: "I dont worry about a lot of stuff. If Ive got the faith of my teammates, thats all I need. ..."
