time that the Colts have totaled 400 or more points with Manning, James and Harrison leading the offensive charge.','12/25/2003','2:45:00 PM','Thursday',937 6503,17,17,'Moss Not Interested In Individual Accomplishments...','According to St. Paul Pioneer Press staff writer Sean Jensen, with 24 receiving yards Sunday, Randy Moss would become the first NFL player to average at least 100 yards and a touchdown a game over a 16-game season, capping one of the best seasons ever by a wide receiver.
With just one more catch, Moss would eclipse his personal single-season best of 106 catches. He already has set a personal best with 1,576 receiving yards.
Moss could care less.
"I dont have goals, man," Moss said. "Super Bowl. Thats it. I dont have individual goals.
"It really doesnt interest me, individual goals, because this is not an individual sport. If it was tennis or golf or something like that, itd be different. As stupid as it may sound, if the offensive line is blocking, and the running back is running, and the quarterback is making the right decisions, its easy for me to go out there and have a great game. So with 10 other guys out there with me, thats who I owe the success to, because I dont touch the ball, I dont snap the ball to myself."
During a rare interview, Moss told Jensen how his teammates on defense have invigorated him, why he runs out of bounds on short pass plays, how he deals with his assorted injuries and how he handles persistent criticism.
Moss was selected to his fifth Pro Bowl, but that and his statistics havent stopped criticism for actions such as running out of bounds. Teammates and coaches defend Moss, saying no other receiver faces the sort of coverage he does. Cornerbacks play Moss way off the line of scrimmage, allowing him those quick gains.
Teammate Moe Williams cited a fumble or an injury as "bad things that can happen by taking unnecessary hits."
"So to take that risk away, thats just playing smart football," Williams said.
