According to Atlanta Journal-Constitution beat man Matt Winkeljohn, players got excited during practice Tuesday when reserve tight end/deep snapper Derek Rackley made a one-handed catch of a long pass. There seems to be more energy this week than in a while.
"The last game had a lot of positive effect on our practice," interim head coach Wade Phillips said. "At this time of year, I think our practice is more spirited than we would normally have. I think it helped our confidence because we were, no matter what you say, we were fragmented. And to come together and play a good football team and knock out a world champion gave everybody a lift, coaches included.
"It gives us hope going into next year. Its important that we go into this offseason positive, and have something positive to think about. Its good for the team, its good for the mindset of the team and hopefully we can finish up strong. ..."
