How Do I Play Fantasy Football

"Traditional" fantasy football leagues involve a group of players - typically friends, relatives or co-workers - who all know each other and can discuss their successes and failures with each other every week.

But fantasy football is also a game that can easily be played online with a group of fellow football fans that you've never met. Leagues can be as large or small as you'd like. Generally, leagues for beginners have approximately 8-10 teams, but a league can be formed with just a handful of teams all the way up to a large group of 50 or more owners.

Regardless of how a league is formed, player selection is usually the most important part of the season. In draft based games, and in those cases where geography - and busy schedules - will allow, teams can be selected in person via a "draft", typically held at an owner's house, or some public venue capable of hosting a meeting.

Online leagues — or leagues where the owners are simply unable to get together in person - hold their drafts via the Internet. Over the past few years, technology has allowed the interfaces for online drafts to become much more user-friendly, meaning that beginners and experts alike can easily select an entire team in a short period of time.

in the game plan.

Its unlikely theyll both be back next season. Both running backs do better when they get a lot of carries. Despite his limited role, Johnson has piled up 905 yards and become the first running back in Bengals history to have three 150-yard games in a season.

Dillon said that even if the Bengals decide keep both of them, the teams turnaround makes it more palatable to stay.

"Whatever transpires, I cant lose," Dillon said. "Im in a great situation no matter how you look at it."

Its clear that he thinks the best situation for him is to leave. He noted that Marshall Faulks career reached new heights when he went to St. Louis. Dillon talked to Faulk before last Sundays game.

"He went to another dimension, didnt he?" Dillon said. "Hmm. Interesting."

Dillon is convinced he could do the same. When he severely strained his groin in the third game of the season, fans wondered if years of pounding were catching up with him.

He ran for 108 yards at San Diego on Nov. 23, proving he still has something left.

"It meant a lot," Dillon said. "It silenced a lot of the critics. They said I was done, Id lost a step, I cant do it no more. Come on, get real.

"The thing Im most proud about this year is that Im a warrior, Im a survivor. Everybody tried to write me off -- Coreys disgruntled, hes a bad apple. I came back. You want to talk about character -- Im tougher than leather. It doesnt get any tougher."

According to Bengals.com online editor Geoff Hobson, Peter Warrick wants to play Sunday in the regular season finale against Cleveland. But he is listed as doubtful.

He also doesnt want to put so much stress on his surgically-repaired knee that he cant play in the first round of the playoffs, scheduled in 10 or 11 days at Paul Brown Stadium if they win and the Ravens lose this weekend.

"I would rather sit out this week, and hopefully Pittsburgh beats Baltimore," said Warrick, who expressed optimism that the Bengals can beat the Browns without him. "I have
