But after running several pass patterns in early warm-ups, Hilliards knee was too painful for him to suit up.
Hilliard was placed on the inactive list for the second week in a row, leaving the Giants with a young and mostly inexperienced receiving crew.
New Yorks inactive list also includes quarterback Kerry Collins (ankle) and tight end Jeremy Shockey (knee), neither of whom made the trip to Texas. They are joined by running back Ron Dayne and tight end Marcellus Rivers.
If the Giants need an emergency third quarterback, it will be running back/kick returner Brian Mitchell.
