Orleans roster, the team expects to use more three wide receiver sets.','12/20/2003','12:05:00 AM','Saturday',904 6471,23,16,'Efficient Ground Game Fueling Offense...','According to an article published by the Delaware County Times, the evolution of Philadelphias offense has been impressive in so many ways, its easy to overlook a running game that is now reaching or threatening milestones with two games remaining in the regular season. Despite embracing a system designed to move the football primarily with short, controlled passes, the Eagles have developed one of the NFLs most efficient ground games when it comes to putting points on the scoreboard.
"Thats a tribute to our line, tight ends and running backs," said tight end Chad Lewis. "Every team coming down the stretch wants to be effective running the ball, particularly in cold weather when defenses are sore or worn down. Thats one of the most significant stats on our team."
The Eagles notched three touchdowns on the ground in Mondays win in Miami. It was the 13th straight game the Eagles hit pay dirt the old fashioned way, which is a franchise record. Its also the 26th time in the last 29 regular-season outings.
According to offensive coordinator Brad Childress, credit for such a potent red-zone weapon is split two ways, between the offensive line and the teams three-way running-back rotation -- Brian Westbrook, Correll Buckhalter and Duce Staley.
As Trenton Times staff Mark Eckel noted earlier this week, Staley, the teams primary back when he as healthy the last five years, has handled sharing the role three ways well. Staleys team-first attitude and leadership with younger backs Westbrook and Buckhalter is one of the reasons the three-tiered attack has worked so well.
He also is having a productive year.
Staley heads into Week 16 boasting a career-high 4.9 yards per carry and is tied with Westbrook for second on the team in receptions with 30.','12/20/2003','4:40:00 AM','Saturday',905
