and that receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh plays for the first time this season. With Houshmandzadeh sidelined for the first half of the season with a hamstring problem, Washington has emerged as the third receiver with 18 catches for 269 yards and three touchdowns. His 14.9 yards per catch is second on the team to Johnsons 15.3. He has started the last two games as the third receiver.

The Rams initially expected injured receiver Isaac Bruce to be unable to practice until Saturday. Then, they expected a midweek return.
But according to St. Louis Post-Dispatch staffer Glenn Kasses, when practice began Thursday on the indoor field at Rams Park, Bruce stood off to the side in street clothes. Bruce suffered what the team called a mild high ankle sprain in Sundays victory over Seattle.
"I think hell be all right," head coach Mike Martz said. "Weve asked him to stay out of everything until maybe Saturday morning. Theres no sense aggravating it. He doesnt need to learn how to run pass routes at this point. Were going to be very careful with Isaac and make sure that hes ready to go. But hes very confident."
Bruce did some jogging and individual agility drills with strength and conditioning coach Chris Clausen. The wideout appeared to move freely through the drills and even broke a smile or two as teammates cracked jokes while he tested the injured ankle.
Martz said he expects to have Bruce available Sunday against Cincinnati, perhaps the most optimistic he has been about Bruce all week.
"At this point in the season, as many routes as hes run, lets just get him well and make sure that he can play on it," Martz said. "Thats a coachs deal -- repetition, repetition
