Pennington isnt satisfied with just knocking off the Patriots. He also wants to beat the reeling Miami Dolphins in the season finale in Miami.
"We can have quite an effect on the last two teams and their playoff run," Pennington said. "I think our focus is to not let them use us to propel them into the playoffs. Wed rather let them have us be their deflator instead of inflator."
The Jets have defeated only one team with a winning record (10-4 Tennessee), before a national television audience on a Monday night.
"I guess the one similarity is were playing one of the premier teams in the AFC," Pennington said. "Were playing a team that knows how to win big football games. Either way, the space taken up would be very detrimental to the Jets offseason plans....
Also of interest....
Curtis Martin is the only former Patriots player on the Jets roster and hes had a history of big games against his former team. In 11 games against New England, Martin has rushed for over 100 yards in six and 99 yards in one other.
And one final note on Martins 228 yards from scrimmage in the snow versus Pittsburgh last
