"Traditional" fantasy football leagues involve a group of players - typically friends, relatives or co-workers - who all know each other and can discuss their successes and failures with each other every week.

But fantasy football is also a game that can easily be played online with a group of fellow football fans that you've never met. Leagues can be as large or small as you'd like. Generally, leagues for beginners have approximately 8-10 teams, but a league can be formed with just a handful of teams all the way up to a large group of 50 or more owners.

Regardless of how a league is formed, player selection is usually the most important part of the season. In draft based games, and in those cases where geography - and busy schedules - will allow, teams can be selected in person via a "draft", typically held at an owner's house, or some public venue capable of hosting a meeting.

Online leagues — or leagues where the owners are simply unable to get together in person - hold their drafts via the Internet. Up...','According to Palm Beach Post staff writer Joe Schad, Jay Fiedler is not going to blossom into a star quarterback over the next two weeks. He may lead the Dolphins to victories, and with some help may even sneak his underachieving team into the playoffs.

But Fiedler doest look like Miamis clear quarterback of the future.

A quick glance at Dolphins victories reveals opponents with weak quarterbacks. Another glance at Miamis defeats reveals opponents with excelling quarterbacks.

There is a reason most experts say quarterback is the most important position on a team. There are countless statistics to back that up.

There are few statistics to back up Fiedler.

And thats why Schad believes Fiedlers return next season is in serious jeopardy.

"Possibly, possibly not," Fiedler said when asked about the possibilities on Wednesday. "Im not the one making those decisions. Its not for me to decide. Its not for me to determine. Obviously I want to play as well as possible -- not to make sure that I come back here, or that I get a favorable contract, but because I have some pride and I want to win."

Schad went on to note that nobody would dispute Fiedler plays with pride and has had some success.

But it is not clear how far Fiedler is capable of leading this team.

"In a way, the quarterback can overcome certain things that fail with other guys on the team," Fiedler said. "But he can also make things a lot worse."

At times, Fiedler has not helped.

Consider Monday nights loss to Philadelphia. Fiedler threw no touchdown passes, two interceptions and 19 incompletions in 40 attempts, including seven passes intended for top receiver Chris Chambers and four for Derrius Thompson.

Chambers, long a supporter of Fiedlers attitude and style, takes an interesting approach to playing with the AFCs least accurate starter (56 percent).

"I just need it to be in the vicinity," Chambers said. "I would love to have a nice ball right over my head and then catch it and run. But nine times
