Though Vick missed Tampa Bays 31-10 victory three months ago at the Georgia Dome, his numbers in two starts last year were terrible. "Its not like every game Im sore and beat up," Vick said. "You know, Im just a bit tired. God gave me this ability, so Im going to use it. Im not worried about the wear and tear. Im just worried about playing and having fun."

Vick knows hell have little room to operate as he leads an offense that ranks last in third-down efficiency, next-to-last in total yardage, 24th in scoring and 25th in sacks per passing attempt. The 23-year-old quarterback, drafted No. 1 overall in 2001, was sacked four times last week as the Falcons lost their second starting left guard to a season-ending injury.

"We have to protect the quarterback, and I told the players that," interim head coach Wade Phillips said. "We have to run the football. And every coach says the same thing. Theres certain ways to do things, and were going to emphasize those things and try not to get in the situation where theres somebody on him where he doesnt have a chance."
