back two or three weeks earlier than expected from a high ankle sprain in training camp. Furrey felt it was something he had to do, considering he was battling two rookies, third-round pick Kevin Curtis and fourth-round pick Shaun McDonald, for a job.
"Theyre going to get their opportunities, so I needed to get back in there as fast as I could to at least try to show what I had and what I can do," Furrey said. "It worked out and now were here."
Furrey was held back during the season by an appendectomy, but has 15 catches for 154 yards, and also gained a key first down with a flanker run against the Bears. He caught four passes for 45 yards in last weeks victory over the Seahawks, including a key 17-yard third-down gain.
"He made three or four guys miss and got us a critical first down," Martz said. "He stepped in for Isaac and did just a terrific job."
Furrey plays all four receiver positions, adding to his value, and hes not awed by his surroundings anymore.

"Well be very careful with him," Martz said. "He says he feels good and is ready to, and well kind of take it step by step."
Looker, Furrey and Holt all expect Bruce, who hurt his left ankle in the first quarter last week, to try to play.
"Wed rather go into the game with Isaac than not," Bulger said. "But if we dont, I think well be all right."
Of course, Ill have more on Bruces status as the weekend progresses.','12/18/2003','12:45:00 AM','Thursday',867 6434,31,16,'Spurrier Considering Resting Coles...','According to Redskins.com staffer Gary Fitzgerald, receiver Laveranues Coles is officially listed as probable for
