Then Portis, who -- according to Boulder Daily Camera sports writer Ryan Thorburn -- wasnt using crutches or moving very fast without a joystick in his hands, tried to elude questions about his injured right leg.

Needless to say, this wont be the last word on Portis; Ill continue to pass along all pertinent info as it comes to my attention.
If Portis cant play, the Broncos will turn to fullback Mike Anderson, who ran for 1,487 yards and was NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2000. Fullback Reuben Droughns and rookie Quentin Griffin are the other options.
"We have a lot of confidence in these guys," Shanahan said. "Whoever is there, we will go with a normal game plan and hopefully execute it."

In an article published Monday, Pro Football Weekly explained the staggering numbers Portis has posted of late by pointing out hes running behind an offensive line thats "blowing people off the ball and creating, at times, gaping space at the line of scrimmage."
"Anytime you have a running back running through holes that are huge like that, it says something about the line," Broncos linebacker Donnie Spragan told PFW. "Hes making people miss, but thats usually about 10 yards downfield."
Jake Plummer echoed that sentiment, adding that the dominant ground game has allowed for plenty of diversity in the passing game.
