"I had an incredible sleep last night," Palmer said Friday. "The (New York) skyline was beautiful. The view from my loft was unbelievable, clear, a full-moon. It was picturesque. If I couldnt sleep with that, there was something wrong."
It hasnt been an easy week for Palmer, who is getting his first start because an ankle injury is ending Kerry Collins 67-game streak as the Giants starting quarterback.
During practices Wednesday and Thursday, Palmer showed the same signs of rust that he exhibited in finishing up during the second half of a loss to the Washington Redskins. His throws were a little off. He wasnt seeing the field well and his confidence looked a little shot.
All that seemed to change Friday.
"It was great, and it should be," Palmer said. "It was the third day. You get a chance to do it for a couple of days and I am feeling more confident in reading things and seeing things. I think right now, I have a good understanding of where I want to go with the ball."
Palmer looked like someone who had taken a deep breath and relaxed after being thrown into two spotlights, one in New York, another in Canada.
