"Traditional" fantasy football leagues involve a group of players - typically friends, relatives or co-workers - who all know each other and can discuss their successes and failures with each other every week.

But fantasy football is also a game that can easily be played online with a group of fellow football fans that you've never met. Leagues can be as large or small as you'd like. Generally, leagues for beginners have approximately 8-10 teams, but a league can be formed with just a handful of teams all the way up to a large group of 50 or more owners.

Regardless of how a league is formed, player selection is usually the most important part of the season. In draft based games, and in those cases where geography - and busy schedules - will allow, teams can be selected in person via a "draft", typically held at an owner's house, or some public venue capable of hosting a meeting.

Online leagues — or leagues where the owners are simply unable to get together in person - hold their drafts via the Internet. According to Times-Picayune beat man Jeff Duncan, the fact that Donte Stallworth practiced Friday wasnt as newsworthy as the way he practiced. The second-year wide receiver looked fluid and fast and showed no ill effects from the high ankle sprain that has sidelined him for the past four games.

After the Saints two-hour practice, Stallworth tested the injured ankle by running routes and catching passes from Brooks while Haslett and General Manager Mickey Loomis monitored.

Haslett said Stallworths playing status for the Saints game against the New York Giants on Sunday night will be determined at game time. Haslett wants to see how the ankle responds to the extra workload.

Meanwhile, Stallworth remains listed as questionable on the injury report.

"I told them if I can run, Im playing," Stallworth said. "If you dont want me to play (on Sunday), dont let me in that stadium."

After an eight-catch, 101-yard game in the season opener, Stallworth caught only seven passes for 119 yards and one touchdown in the next five games. He missed all but one series of the next three games with a strained quadriceps.

Meanwhile, Stallworth has been the subject of intense criticism, internally by teammates and club officials and externally by media and fans.

"Its killing me," Stallworth said. "People on the outside, they dont know. I hate being in the training room. Im just trying to get out there on the field.
