Dungy expects the competition committee to address the issue during the offseason. One possible remedy, he said, would be to allow a team only to substitute for the injured player.

The status of Michael Bennett came into serious question Friday when he was held out of practice for the third straight day and downgraded to questionable for Sundays game at Chicago. Moe Williams, who started when Bennett missed the first seven games of the season with a fractured left foot, might start against the Bears.
Bennett suffered a mild high right ankle sprain Sunday in the fourth quarter against Seattle. After a magnetic resonance imaging exam showed no serious damage Monday, the Vikings believed Bennett would be able to practice. Head coach Mike Tice planned to hold him out of practice on Wednesday but to work Bennett on Thursday and Friday.
However, the ankle never made significant improvement. Theres a possibility Bennett will sit out Sundays game to ensure he is healthy for the final two games of the regular season.
