How much time does all this take?

The answer to this question depends in large part on just how competitive your league is and how much you want to "master" the game. But, generally speaking, you'll at least want to skim the NFL news once or twice per week to see if any of your players are injured, about to lose their job, etc. You will also need to go in and select a starting lineup once each week some time prior to kickoff of the first NFL game.

In the simplest leagues you can spend as little as 5-10 minutes per week on your team, while in highly competitive leagues you can spend hours scanning the services like the FootballDieHards.com, making trade proposals and speculating as to how your players will perform in the coming week.

"Ty truly understands the position of quarterback," Young said last year. "Hes so exact when it comes to fundamentals I think hed be absolutely perfect [as a coach] for Mike."

Vick also is seeing how Joe Montana and Young -- his childhood idol -- learned this offense.

"Growing up, Mike loved to watch the 49ers," Mora said. "We brought all the training tapes of how we trained those guys. ... Not only videotapes of games, but tapes of the actual installation [of the offense]. We can go back and show Bill Walsh installing 22 Z-in in a meeting with Joe, or show Greg with Steve Young.

"Remember [the 49ers] 98 playoff game against Green Bay, when [Terrell Owens caught a touchdown pass from Young]? Mike was watching the NFL Network the other night, and they happened to be showing that game. He came in the next morning and he was really fired up. He said, I was watching that show; that [play] was 3-Jet-all-go, and he hit the bender, didnt he? Hes loved it."

Vick seems to be just as taken with the new staff as they are with him.

"I think Im going to like [Mora and Knapp]," he said. "I talked to [Young]. ... After Mora was hired to see what having him and Greg was going to be like. He said Greg was one of the best coaches he ever had."

Mora believes Vick can get the job done.

"I certainly think Mike has the ability to be a 60 percent passer," he said. "Heres another thing Greg emphasizes: Its not necessarily push the ball down the field; its completions, completions, completions, however you get them, get completions.

"That not only builds your self-confidence,
