Aside from todays fashion faux pas, Owens seemed to make a very favorable impression on observers, including philadelphiaeagles.com insider Dave Spadaro, who advised readers: "The weather was great, the tempo was crisp, and when Owens lined up and ran a skinny post and shoved away a cornerback -- didnt catch who it was -- and caught a Donovan McNabb pass during the morning, well, everybody in the land of the Eagles smiled.

For what its worth, the Eagles havent had a receiver reach 80 catches since 1997, when Irving Fryar caught 86 for 1,316 yards. That came under head coach Ray Rhodes. Reid has always run an offense that spreads the ball around to everyone, making it difficult for any one receiver to rack up numbers.
"The offense is pretty wide open," Owens said. "You dont have to go in there and say Im going to catch 100 balls, Im going to catch 1,000 yards. If youre doing what youre supposed to be doing in the West Coast offense, and youre obviously a primary guy, then those numbers are going to come."
A receiver hasnt been able to compile those numbers with Reid as the head coach.
"Not yet," Owens said.
