How much time does all this take?

The answer to this question depends in large part on just how competitive your league is and how much you want to "master" the game. But, generally speaking, you'll at least want to skim the NFL news once or twice per week to see if any of your players are injured, about to lose their job, etc. You will also need to go in and select a starting lineup once each week some time prior to kickoff of the first NFL game.

In the simplest leagues you can spend as little as 5-10 minutes per week on your team, while in highly competitive leagues you can spend hours scanning the services like the FootballDieHards.com, making trade proposals and speculating as to how your players will perform in the coming week.

"They zeroed in on Zereoue."

This after the Raiders signed free agent running back Amos Zereoue to a one-year contract on Thursday.

Zereoue, who played five seasons with Pittsburgh, immediately becomes a prime candidate for playing time in Oakland with Tyrone Wheatley and Justin Fargas, coming off a season-ending knee injury suffered last November, standing as the top holdovers from last season.

According to Bell, Zereoue will fill a slashing, outside running and receiving role -- a complement to the pounding inside work of Wheatley -- in Turners new power-running game.

Zereoue was second on the Steelers in rushing with 432 yards last season. He also had 38 catches for 291 yards. Zereoues best season was 2002 when he had a team-high 762 yards rushing, along with 42 catches for 341 yards.

A third-round draft pick from West Virginia in 1999, Zereoue has rushed for 1,697 yards with seven touchdowns in his career. He also has 95 receptions for 803 yards and one TD in 66 games. ...
