How much time does all this take?

The answer to this question depends in large part on just how competitive your league is and how much you want to "master" the game. But, generally speaking, you'll at least want to skim the NFL news once or twice per week to see if any of your players are injured, about to lose their job, etc. You will also need to go in and select a starting lineup once each week some time prior to kickoff of the first NFL game.

In the simplest leagues you can spend as little as 5-10 minutes per week on your team, while in highly competitive leagues you can spend hours scanning the services like the FootballDieHards.com, making trade proposals and speculating as to how your players will perform in the coming week.

And he wasnt alone.

According to Florida Times-Union beat man Bart Hubbuch, friends and family members began calling immediately after the pick, all asking the same thing: Did Taylor think the Jaguars had drafted his eventual replacement?

"I kind of wondered the same thing," Taylor said Wednesday.

But the star halfback says his concern quickly turned to confidence the more Taylor thought about the addition of Jones to an already deep and talented Jaguars backfield.

"I think its a good pick, because itll be good for the franchise," Taylor said as he prepared for this weekends mandatory mini-camp. "Ive always liked his style and the way he runs. I used to watch him all the time at Florida State."

Taylor would appear to have little reason for concern about playing time after rushing for a career-high 1,572 yards last season. Offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave also is vowing to give him the ball more after the Jaguars went 4-1 when Taylor carried at least 24 times.

Head coach Jack Del Rio said he doesnt envision Jones cutting into Taylors carries. Del Rio sees using Taylor and Jones together, assuming Jones is fully recovered from a serious knee injury he sustained late in the 2002 season.

But Hubbuch added that Taylor wonders if the Jaguars will take at least eight running backs to training camp -- and potentially
