told reporters Saturday night that backup running back LaMont Jordan isnt going anywhere.
"LaMont Jordan will be a Jet this season," Bradway said at the conclusion of Day 1 of the NFL draft.
According to New York Daily News sports writer Rich Cimini, the Jets, believed to be seeking a second-round pick for the former No. 2 pick, reportedly talked to the Raiders about a trade.
Cimini went on to suggest that after three seasons as Curtis Martins backup, Jordan is looking for more playing time, but he apparently is willing to play out the final year of his contract -- unless the Jets offer an enticing long-term deal before the season.','04/25/2004','11:40','Sunday'3701,2004,1075 6632,24,75,'Angry Maddox Meets With Cowher','According to Associated Press sports writer Alan Robinson, an angry Tommy Maddox met Tuesday with head coach Bill Cowher to discuss the teams use of a first-round draft pick on quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
Maddox, Pittsburghs starting quarterback for the past two seasons, left the Steelers training complex without talking to reporters and there was no word on what they discussed.
The meeting came three days after the Steelers added Roethlisberger, the only quarterback they have drafted on the first round since 1981. Roethlisberger is expected to become the starter by the 2005 season.
Robinson went on to note that Maddox initially planned to talk to Cowher on Monday, but told his agent he was too upset to meet then. He also wanted to talk to Steelers chairman Dan Rooney or president Art Rooney II about his contract situation, but it is believed Tuesdays meeting was only with Cowher.
As noted in a previous update, Maddox is upset because the Steelers indicated to him before the draft they would choose a right tackle and not a quarterback.
Maddox also expected the team would renegotiate his $750,000
