There were 32 different pro football coaches in 2006. Marty Schottenheimer led his team, the San Diego Chargers, to the best record at 14 - 2. Ultimately, though the top coaching job would go to Tony Dungy of the Indianapolis Colts because he led his team to the Super Bowl Championship.
