1986 NFL Coaches By Team

There were 31 different pro football coaches in 1986. The Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts and San Diego Chargers had multiple coaches. Mike Ditka led his team, the Chicago Bears, to the best record at 14 - 2. Ultimately, though the top coaching job would go to Bill Parcells of the New York Giants because he led his team to the Super Bowl Championship. Other top coaching jobs of 1986 were Bill Parcells who led the New York Giants to a 14 - 2 record, Marty Schottenheimer who led the Cleveland Browns to a 12 - 4 record and Joe Gibbs who led the Washington Redskins to a 12 - 4 record.
