1978 NFL Coaches By Team

There were 32 different pro football coaches in 1978. The Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers had multiple coaches. Chuck Noll led his team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, to the best record at 14 - 2. Noll not only coached his team to the top record but he also led his team to the Super Bowl Championship. Other top coaching jobs of 1978 were Ray Malavasi who led the Los Angeles Rams to a 12 - 4 record, Tom Landry who led the Dallas Cowboys to a 12 - 4 record and Don Shula who led the Miami Dolphins to a 11 - 5 record.
