There were 11 different pro football coaches in 1934. George Halas led his team, the Chicago Bears, to the best record at 13 - 0. Ultimately, though the top coaching job would go to Steve Owen of the New York Giants because he led his team to the Championship. Other top coaching jobs of 1934 were Potsy Clark who led the Detroit Lions to a 10 - 3 record, Steve Owen who led the New York Giants to a 8 - 5 record and Curly Lambeau who led the Green Bay Packers to a 7 - 6 record.
