NFL Seasons, Super Bowl Winners & Champions

Professional football has been in existence in one form or another since 1920. Over this span of 93 years there have been 4 different leagues, the APFA, NFL, AAFC and the AFL, and sometimes 2 leagues existed at the same time. In 1970 the AFL and NFL merged to form the NFL as we know it today. There have been over 14,000 regular season and 400 postseason games played during this time along with 47 Super Bowl champions crowned. In addition, over 30,000 different players have pulled on a professional uniform, making pro football a league rich in tradition. Some years will go down as more memorable than others such as the 1920 Akron Pros who went undefeated with only 3 ties and won the first title, the 1966 Green Bay Packers who won the first Super Bowl, or the 2007 New England Patriots who went 17 and 0 in the regular season only to lose the Super Bowl to the New York Giants. Regardless of how memorable a particular year was, they all hold stories and tales of amazing performances.
